Le Devoir
Independent Quebec media outlet providing news, analysis and coverage of political and social issues.
About
Le Devoir is an independent news outlet available on mobile, in print, on tablet and online. It was founded in 1910 by journalist and politician Henri Bourassa. From the outset, Bourassa intended for the newspaper to remain fully independent and never be sold to any ownership group, a principle that continues to guide the publication more than a century later.
Originally established as a newspaper of advocacy, Le Devoir has evolved into a general-interest news publication rooted in the North American journalistic tradition. It remains committed to advancing ideas and causes that contribute to the political, economic, cultural and social development of Quebec society.
