Collaborating with Omerlo to Deploy the Digital Ecosystem of Quebec Newspaper Le Devoir

Modernizing the Digital Experience While Preserving Editorial Integrity

Le Devoir sought to evolve its digital offering by delivering an immersive reading experience aligned with the newspaper’s editorial rigour, while adapting to new mobile consumption habits. The objective: to transform news reading into a structured, engaging and seamless experience across all digital platforms.

iOS and Android Applications Designed as Immersive Editions

Through its media platform Omerlo, our team supported Le Devoir in the development of its iOS and Android applications, designing a model inspired by magazine-style reading.
The digital editions are organized into thematic sections, with each page dedicated to a specific subject. This structure fosters deeper immersion and a natural reading flow comparable to that of a book. Readers can explore content seamlessly, delve into emerging topics and engage with current affairs within a clear, intuitive and thoughtfully designed environment.

A Flexible Editorial Structure Focused on Distribution

The digital editions were developed with distribution flexibility in mind: free access, single-copy purchase or subscription models can be activated according to editorial and commercial strategies. Carefully integrated advertising formats support monetization efforts while preserving the quality and continuity of the reading experience.

The Omerlo Platform at the Core of the Ecosystem

The applications are powered by the Omerlo platform, which serves as the technological backbone of the digital ecosystem. This integration enables efficient content synchronization between print and digital editions, reducing duplication of work and streamlining newsroom workflows.
This synergy between platforms supports more fluid, coherent and agile content production while reinforcing Le Devoir’s commitment to editorial innovation.

A Launch Supported by Public Relations

To accompany the rollout of this new digital experience, we led a media relations campaign positioning the launch as a significant milestone in the evolution of the century-old newspaper. The initiative amplified the project’s reach and reinforced the perception of Le Devoir as an innovative media outlet committed to editorial independence.

Product Management and Digital Governance

Beyond application development, we continue to support Le Devoir in product and project management across its digital ecosystem. This includes roadmap planning, feature prioritization, cross-team collaboration and ongoing governance, all within a framework of continuous improvement.
